The Christ Integration Camp (CIC) exists to provide a structured and developmentally grounded pathway for middle school students to grow in Christ. Many churches have passion, volunteers, and weekly programming, yet lack a clear discipleship framework that helps students move beyond attendance and into meaningful spiritual formation. The CIC was created to address this gap by offering a simple and sustainable model that guides students through three essential movements: belonging, awakening, and becoming.

The CIC uses a sports camp mindset. Football players go to camp to prepare for their season. They train, learn the playbook, and build the foundation they need before they ever step onto the field. Middle school students need the same kind of preparation in their spiritual lives. CIC gives them a place to train for their journey into a life with Christ. It provides the structure and repetition needed for growth, just as athletes rely on practice and discipline to develop skill and confidence.

At its core, the CIC is designed to help students find a place to belong, awaken to Christ’s presence and calling, and become mature disciples who integrate faith into everyday life. Each movement carries a tagline that begins with The Journey. This language reminds students that discipleship is not a single moment. It is a path that unfolds over time. CIC helps students take the next step into their journey with clarity and purpose.

The framework supports leaders by providing a consistent structure that aligns with adolescent development and the realities of youth ministry. It offers a practical and spiritually grounded pathway to help youth move from event‑driven ministry to intentional discipleship.

This blog serves as part of the microproject for the Doctor of Ministry program in Next Generation Leadership. Its purpose is to document insights, reflections, and practical applications connected to the development and implementation of the CIC model. The content is written for pastors, youth leaders, and parents who desire a clearer approach to guiding middle school students toward spiritual maturity.

Christ Integration Camp is not a program to be consumed. It is a pathway to be lived. It invites students, families, and leaders into a formation that integrates Christ into every part of a student’s life, not only during weekly gatherings.
